Two years ago, when people asked us “Can I fly a drone in Central London” our answer was….No. The rules were unclear, and it just felt too risky. Happily, the new Drone Regulations that came into force on 1 January 2021, mean our answer is now “yes it can be done and here is how”.
You will need the right drone: the DJI Mini 2 or 3 Pro – if you don’t have one you can fly one of ours.
We have researched the best flying sites to give you the ability to shoot these iconic images of the Capital, informed the relevant authorities, and made sure these flights, often on the very edge of No Fly Zones, are completely legal and supported by the Authorities.
You will need the right qualifications: believe it or not, with the DJI Mini the only qualification you need is Operator and Flyer ID
And a fresh Micro SD card in the drone, ready to capture life-highlight images and video clips.
Ahead of this In a Day Experience, we’ll take care of all of this.
We’ll gather at Greenwich late afternoon before moving on to Tower Bridge and the Southbank. Bring your own DJI Mini, or fly one of ours. This will be a high-adrenaline, high action day, that will enable you to take wow-memorable-images left, right and centre.
