Conwy Castle stands alongside the great Castles at Beaumaris, Harlech and Caernarfon as one of the most impressive structures in Wales. Not only the Castle, but also the scenery all around it: the tight streets of well-preserved narrow streets of Conwy; the harbour with its working fishing boats; and the marina with its rows of small boats; the hills and fields; and the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia in the distance. Opportunities to take bucket-list images and video with your drone abound in every direction.
Joining a small group (maximum six people) of like-minded drone enthusiasts, you will learn from Rob about how to set up safely and effectively, look at images he has taken here, and learn from him how and when he took them. Then it will be your turn to take to the skies. The flying here is more challenging than at Bamburgh, because of the proximity of the town of Conwy and the Suspension Bridge over the Conwy Estuary.
Weโll go through our flight planning with you, and show you how to prepare for more complex missions such as this one. Weโll show you the apps we use time and again to get this right including: DroneDesk; Drone Assist; Sky Demon Light; and DarkSky.
Whether your interest is mainly photography, or mainly videography, you will learn at a rapid rate with Rob Lamont at your side. The correct camera settings to get the most out of the camera on your drone, and the different settings to adopt for photos or video. If photos are your thing, Rob will discuss composition with you, and show you how to use the Panorama options in DJI Go 4 and DJI Fly to quickly assemble very large panoramic images. Then heโll show you how to do the same thing, with Exposure Bracketing, manually. In order to create a Holy Grail HDR Panorama in Lightroom later.
If you are more interested in video, then Rob will take you through how to capture arresting video clips that will compliment each other when it comes to editing. And how to use Intelligent Flight Modes (Rob is our in-house expert at this) to take your videographer to the next level.
Note: Whatever stage you are at with post-production, for photos and video, we have In Person, on Zoom and Small Group tuition on that also.
This one day event at the Iconic Conwy Castle is all about capturing amazing drone photos and video. In an amazing place. With an amazing guide. Wherever your starting point, this is a fantastic place to visit, on your drone adventure.
