The good news is that taking your drone on a plane is much less stressful than you might expect. Clients of ours have taken their drones to more than 100 countries worldwide, with only a handful of problems doing so. None the less, there are certain things you need to know, and need to do, in order for everything to go smoothly. For example, in order to fly your drone in any country in the EU, you will need to obtain an EU Operator and Flyer ID.
Stephen Knell is our expert on all things to do with travelling with your drone, especially in Europe. Set up a Zoom call with him to make sure that your overseas drone adventure will go smoothly, and worry free.

Stephen has gone the whole hog, and completed his EU GVC, in Spain. It helps that he spends much of the year living in Northern Spain, and speaks fluent Spanish.
When it comes to getting your EU Operator and Flyer ID, the most straight-forward way to do this that we have found is to complete the French Operator & Flyer online training and quiz. Thankfully, the rules in the Open Category and in the Specific Category in the EU are almost identical to those in the UK. So a lot of the material you will see in the French online training will be familiar to you from completing your UK Operator and Flyer ID online training. Best of all, the French training is available in English!
