The National Drone Photography Awards is ready for Take-Off
Read on to make 2020 an Award-Winning Year
At this stage in November, we should have been hosting our second National Drone Photography Awards Competition. Finalists and category winners would have been decided. Menu choices and wine orders placed. Table plans drawn up, and outfits picked out, for the gala dinner at Crewe Hall. Sadly, that isn’t going to happen this year.
Great News. All is Not Lost
Whilst 2020 has heralded restrictions not previously experienced, it has also brought us flying and photography opportunities not usually available (unless you are prepared to get up very very early). It might have been the chance to fly over a deserted beach, quiet streets or usually bustling urban areas. Alternatively “lockdown” has given some the gift of time to try out new ideas without the usual demands of “normal” life.
This Year’s Competition
The categories will be the same as last year, with one new addition for this year only:
- Landscape & Seascape
- The Built Environment
- Overseas and Travel
- The Year 2020: capture the essence of a year like no other.
There will be a Winner and Runner Up in each category along with 3 Overall Winners.
Although we aren’t going to be able to give out physical or financial prizes this year, each winner will be: presented with their Certificate live at our Virtual Awards Evening; be given the use of the prestigious National Drone Photography Awards 2020 Winners Logo in perpetuity; and, of course, will gain bragging rights forever more.
Entries will first be anonymised and then shortlisted following criteria consistent across each category. The winners and runners up will then be decided by an independent judging panel made up of three award-winning professional photographers.
